Philippines records lowest active COVID-19 cases since January

As of Friday, the Philippines recorded its lowest number of active COVID-19 cases since January with 30,527 infections.

The DOH reported a total of 290 new cases on Friday, bringing the nationwide caseload to 3,680,802 and recoveries to 3,590,615 while the death toll reached 59,660.

Hospital bed occupancy is at 16.1%, with 5,273 occupied beds out of a total of 32,703 available.

The top regions with cases in the past two weeks are the National Capital Region (NCR) with 1,426, followed by Region 4A and Region 3.

WHO warned about potential resurgence of COVID-19 cases due to mass gatherings during the campaign period for the upcoming elections.
