Philippines records 4,533 new COVID-19 cases

The Philippines recorded 4,533 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, Aug 11, increasing the total number of cases to 3,818,480 and active infections to 37,962.

This marks an increase from the previous day's tally of 3,181 cases and Tuesday's count of 2,618 cases.

In recent weeks, NCR has reported the highest number of cases at 15,700, followed by Calabarzon with 10,098, Central Luzon with 5,189, Western Visayas with 2,842, and Central Visayas with 2,167.

The recovery tally increased to 3,719,602 with new recoveries recorded, while the death toll rose to 60,916 with at least 25 new deaths reported.

As of Tuesday, Aug 9, bed occupancy in the country was at 29.9%, with 8,684 beds occupied and 20,353 vacant.
