Philippines receives 85.5M COVID-19 doses, Galvez urges LGUs to improve vaccination

Vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. stated that as of October 10, the Philippines has received a total of 85.5756 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines since February.

In the first week of October alone, over 14.2 million vaccine doses arrived in the country.

Galvez emphasized the need for local government units to improve vaccination efforts and called on mayors, governors, military, and police to enhance vaccine administration.

He also claimed that some governors are withholding vaccine distribution to municipalities due to political reasons, leading the national government to distribute vaccines directly by municipality.
