Philippines secures 202M COVID-19 vaccines

The Philippines has secured 202 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines from various pharmaceutical companies and the COVAX facility.

Sec. Carlito Galvez Jr., Chief Implementer of the National Task Force Against Covid-19, announced that 158 million doses are government-procured while 44 million are through COVAX.

Galvez noted increased global vaccine production, COVAX honoring commitments, and successful government negotiations with manufacturers as reasons for the increase from an initial target of 148 million doses.
