Philippines logs 2,404 new COVID-19 cases, highest in five days

The Philippines recorded 2,404 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, September 8, bringing the total number of infections to 3,898,882.

This is an increase from Wednesday's tally of 1,750 and marks the highest daily count in five days.

Active cases rose to 24,032, which is the highest figure in three days.

Metro Manila had the most infections over the last two weeks with 9,052 cases, followed by Calabarzon (4,011) and Central Luzon (2,580).

Quezon City reported the highest number of cases within this period at 2,152, followed by Cavite (1,317) and Manila (1,155).
