DOH: NCR COVID-19 positivity rate up to 16.4%, moderate risk classification

The COVID-19 positivity rate in Metro Manila has risen to 16.4 percent, up from 13.2 percent the previous week.

This increase has led to a moderate risk classification for some local government units (LGUs) within the National Capital Region (NCR), although specific LGUs were not named by DOH.

Healthcare utilization remains manageable at 50%, and hospital bed occupancy is still low with only 39% of ward beds and 33% ICU beds utilized.

OCTA Research predicts that the current positivity rate may surpass the previous peak of 17.5 percent recorded on August 5.
