Philippines lifts travel ban on Taiwan

The Philippines has lifted its travel ban on Taiwan in response to efforts to prevent the spread of Coronavirus Disease-2019.

BI Commissioner Jaime Morente announced that travelers can now enter and exit Taiwan, following an order from the Office of the President.

Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat welcomed the decision, hoping it would help minimize the impact on the local tourism industry.

The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) made this decision after recognizing Taiwan's strict measures and protocols to address COVID-19.
