NAIA sees 16.7% drop in intl arrivals due to coronavirus

Passenger traffic at NAIA declined by 16.74% from January 25 to February 17 due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The number of international passengers dropped from 1,624,698 in the same period last year to 1,352,692 this year, a decrease of 272,006.

Domestic passenger traffic also declined by 3.42% to 1,406,876 passengers compared to 1,456,705 in the same period last year.

MIAA General Manager Ed Monreal expressed optimism that the partial lifting of travel restrictions on Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan would help increase international passenger numbers.
