Galvez proposes Sinovac vaccine for seniors

Vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. is proposing to use China's Sinovac vaccine on senior citizens in the Philippines despite the FDA recommending it only for those aged 18 to 59.

Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque supports Galvez’s proposal, citing that many countries are already using Sinovac for their elderly populations.

The FDA requires additional data from Sinovac before revising its emergency use authorization (EUA) to include senior citizens; around 4 to 9 million seniors are on the government's masterlist for inoculation.
