Philippine COVID-19 new variants account for less than 3% of total infections

Cases of new coronavirus variants from the UK and South Africa account for less than 2% to 3% of total infections in the Philippines, according to Dr. Edsel Salvana.

On Tuesday, the DOH reported 30 more cases with the UK variant and six cases with the South African variant.

Of the six South African variant cases, three are local residents from Pasay City, two are returning overseas Filipinos, and one case's location is still being verified.
