Philippines bans foreign travelers from US starting Jan. 3

The Philippine government has imposed a travel ban on foreign passengers from the US starting January 3 due to concerns over the new coronavirus variant.

Passengers arriving before midnight on January 3 will be allowed entry but must undergo a 14-day quarantine in an absolute facility-based setting, regardless of negative RT-PCR test results.

Philippine Airlines has advised that foreign travelers from or who have been in the US within 14 days prior to their planned arrival will not be accepted on flights from January 3 to 15.

Filipino citizens traveling from or through the US during this period are exempt and may still board PAL flights, but must also comply with quarantine requirements.
