Philippines' active cases breach 12K

The Philippines' active COVID-19 cases increased to 12,528 on Friday, the highest since April.

New infections rose by 1,712, bringing the total caseload to 3,714,770 with recoveries at 3,641,603 and deaths at 60,639.

Metro Manila recorded the most cases in the last two weeks (6,869), followed by Calabarzon (2,915), Western Visayas (1,253), Central Luzon (1,134), and Central Visayas (662).

The bed occupancy rate rose to 20.5%, with 5,948 of the 29,046 beds occupied.

Testing labs reported that 19,847 individuals were tested for COVID-19 on Thursday.
