Filipino golfers Pagdanganan, Ardina compete in Paris Olympics

Three Filipino athletes are competing in the 2024 Paris Olympics women's golf individual stroke event alongside defending champion Nelly Korda of the United States and Tokyo Olympics bronze medalist Lydia Ko of New Zealand.

Bianca Pagdanganan dropped seven spots to joint 13th place after carding a one-over par 73 on Friday, moving her total score to 214.

Dottie Ardina improved 13 places to solo 23rd as she had a three-under par 69 in the third round, improving her total score to 217.

Switzerland's Morgane Metraux remains in first place with an aggregate score of 136 after scoring 66 in the second round, ahead of China's Yin Ruoning who is now in second place and New Zealand's Lydia Ko who is third.

Yuka Saso, competing for Japan, remains near the bottom of the leaderboard at joint 47th place with a total score of 151, one spot down from Wednesday.

Team Philippines aims to add more medals to its current haul of four as Pagdanganan and Ardina continue their performances in the women's golf competition.
