Philippine golfers improvise uniforms with flag patches

Olympic golfer Dottie Ardina and Bianca Pagdanganan improvised their uniforms by attaching Philippine flag patches to store-bought shirts during the Paris Olympics women's golf competition due to a lack of official uniforms.

Ardina expressed frustration over customs delays and inadequate support, questioning government accountability in a video that circulated on social media.

The National Golf Association of the Philippines (NGAP) secretary general Bones Floro explained that logistical issues caused some items to be stuck with the courier despite efforts to secure them before the tournament.

Adidas sent new kits a week before the Games but they did not arrive in time, and Pagdanganan and Ardina wore personal attire with improvised flag patches during their competition from August 7 to 10.

The Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) clarified that there was no corruption involved and stressed that this situation is isolated, emphasizing support for the athletes throughout the campaign.
