PH reports 1,392 new COVID-19 cases, total now 58,850

The Philippines reported 1,392 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday, bringing the total tally to 58,850.

Of these new cases, 708 were from Metro Manila, followed by Cebu with 198 and Iloilo with 86.

There were also 517 recoveries and 11 deaths reported on Wednesday.

Health Secretary Francisco Duque III noted that the country has 'successfully flattened the curve since April,' despite the rising case count.

The DOH emphasized that the longer case doubling time, currently at 8.18 days, indicates progress in managing the pandemic.
