Philippine church leaders test positive for COVID-19

San Carlos Bishop Gerardo Alminaza and Manila Archbishop Jose Cardinal Advincula have both tested positive for COVID-19.

Alminaza, who previously contracted the virus in June, is asymptomatic and canceled a cataract operation scheduled for September 20.

Cardinal Advincula, who was installed as archbishop less than three months ago, also has mild symptoms but is fully vaccinated and under strict quarantine protocols.
