PH slow in administering COVID-19 boosters

The Philippines is 'relatively' slow in administering booster shots against COVID-19, according to National Task Force (NTF) Against Covid-19 chief implementer Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr.

As of Wednesday, January 5, the country has administered 110 million doses of vaccines, with 2.2 million as boosters and 57 million as first doses.

Galvez noted that 2.5 million senior citizens have yet to receive their primary shots but over eight million minors aged 12-18 years old have received at least one dose, with 5.7 million fully vaccinated.

On January 3, Galvez warned the country is 'not out of the woods' as cases are spiking again and emphasized the need to vaccinate more Filipinos, especially the elderly and those with comorbidities.
