PH records 571 more Delta cases, no Omicron detected

The Philippines recorded an additional 571 cases of the Delta variant on December 6, bringing the total number of Delta cases to 7,848.

Of the 629 samples sequenced that day, about 90.78% were identified as Delta variant cases, with one case each for Alpha and Beta variants.

The country has a total of 3,168 Alpha variant cases and 3,630 Beta variant cases.

Delta remains the most common lineage in the Philippines among sequenced samples at 40.54%, followed by Beta at 18.75% and Alpha at 16.36%.

The DOH has yet to detect any cases of the Omicron variant.
