Philippines logs record 2,921 COVID-19 cases, highest in 4 months

The Philippines reported 2,037 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, bringing the total to 578,381.

Recoveries increased by 86 to reach 534,351 while deaths rose to 12,322 with four new fatalities.

Sunday saw 2,113 new infections, pushing the tally to 576,352 and recoveries climbed to 534,271 with 29 new deaths.

Saturday marked a record high of 2,921 cases in 4 months, raising concerns about rising infection rates despite ICU bed availability at 60% and ventilators at 78%.
