Beijing Baic Motor advances to AVC Women's Champions League semis

Petro Gazz lost to Beijing Baic Motor Volleyball Club in a five-set match on Friday at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City, marking the end of all Filipino teams' participation in the AVC Women's Champions League.

Despite reaching set points and falling behind 29-31 in the first set, Petro Gazz managed to win the second and third sets convincingly with scores of 25-19 and 25-20 respectively.

However, Beijing Baic Motor secured their place in the semifinals after winning the fourth and fifth sets, 25-20 and 15-12 respectively.

Ye Jin led Beijing Baic Motor with an impressive performance of 37 points from 33 attacks and four blocks, while Petro Gazz's standout player, Gia Day, scored a total of 35 points but was unable to secure the victory.

With this hard-fought win, Beijing Baic Motor will face Vietnam's VTV Binh Dien Long An in the semifinals on Saturday, April 26, at the same venue.
