PDEA seizes PHP59M worth of drugs, arrests 53 suspects

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) seized PHP59.14 million worth of illegal drugs during operations from March 28 to April 4.

These efforts resulted in the arrest of 53 individuals and the confiscation of 3,690 grams of shabu, 5,703 grams of dried marijuana leaves, 11.3 grams of kush, and 136,000 pieces of marijuana plants.

The PDEA attributed the large volume of seized marijuana plants to successful eradication operations in cultivation areas, while the presence of kush indicates a growing trend toward synthetic and premium-grade narcotics.

The agency highlighted its sustained aggressive posture in line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s bloodless anti-drug drive, emphasizing operational efficiency and commitment to reducing drug availability.

PDEA continues to focus on high-value targets and organized drug groups through intelligence-driven operations and collaboration with local enforcement units and community stakeholders.
