PDEA busts shabu lab, arrests five suspects in Las Piñas

On Friday, April 11, government anti-narcotics agents seized laboratory equipment and chemicals used in shabu production during an operation in Las Piñas City.

Five suspects, including two Chinese nationals and a Taiwanese individual, were arrested following the raid at 16 Pilar Pilapil Street, BF Resort Village; some of them denied accusations but one foreigner and a Filipino runner tested positive for drugs.

The search revealed large flasks, weighing scales, drums of chemicals, and multiple chemical substances stored in various containers believed to be used for drug production.

According to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), one drum could manufacture around 50 to 100 kilograms of shabu, highlighting the potential scale of the operation if left unchecked.

To ensure compliance with legal protocols, the operation was conducted in the presence of mandatory witnesses and confiscated items will undergo chemical analysis by PDEA Laboratory Service.

Led by the PDEA Intelligence Service, the operation received support from other law enforcement agencies to secure the premises and conduct a thorough investigation.
