PDEA seizes PHP1B worth of shabu in abandoned house in Angeles City

On Sunday, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) seized more than PHP1 billion worth of suspected shabu during a search at a house in Barangay Pampang, Angeles City, Pampanga.

The seized drugs were contained within 155 transparent plastic bags, each weighing approximately one kilogram. The house was abandoned and the subject of the search warrant, a Chinese national, is still facing charges for violation of Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) under Republic Act 9165.

PDEA Director General Isagani R. Nerez stated that this operation is connected to a previous one in Angeles City where over 35 kilograms of shabu were confiscated and two individuals apprehended, highlighting the persistent tracking of drug syndicates and their sources.

Nerez emphasized PDEA's commitment to both high-impact operations targeting major drug traffickers and grassroots efforts against small-scale dealers as directed by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., adding that the agency will continue to strengthen its partnerships with other drug law enforcement agencies and stakeholders.
