Anti-drug operatives arrest HVI, seize PHP13.6M shabu

Anti-drug operatives arrested a high-value individual (HVI) and seized PHP13.6 million worth of shabu in Quezon City on Tuesday night.

The suspect, alias Jessie, 43, was apprehended during a buy-bust operation along San Mateo Road in Barangay Batasan Hills after an undercover officer purchased illegal drugs from him.

Operatives confiscated two kilograms of suspected shabu packed in Chinese tea bags and seized high-denomination cash bills, bank transaction slips, personal IDs, and a mobile phone.

According to Quezon City Police Department Station 6 Station Commander Police Lieutenant Colonel Romil Avenido, Jessie had been supplying several kilograms of shabu to his big-time pusher customers from Pasig, Marikina, Antipolo, and Quezon City.

The operation demonstrates the effectiveness of proactive policing and highlights the government's commitment to building safer communities under President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s directive.

Jessie will face charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act and will be presented for inquest proceedings before the Department of Justice National Prosecution Service.
