PDEA seizes PHP147M worth of drugs in week-long operations

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) reported the confiscation of PHP147.25 million worth of illegal drugs in operations from April 11 to 18, including 19,281.62 grams of shabu, 11,000 grams of marijuana leaves, and other substances.

During this period, PDEA conducted 69 anti-drug operations leading to the arrest of 79 individuals and the seizure of various illicit drugs like ketamine and ephedrine.

PDEA Director General Isagani Nerez highlighted the importance of inter-agency coordination with the Philippine National Police (PNP), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), and other law enforcement agencies in these operations.

Significant seizures included 1,000 grams of shabu in Bulacan and 16,000 grams of shabu in Western Samar, marking the largest single-week seizure in that region.

The agency emphasized its efforts to save communities from drug addiction and promote welfare for families affected by drug abuse, urging public support through Operation Private Eye Hotline and social media platforms.
