PNP nets P6.2M drugs, 22 suspects in BARMM raids

From April 7 to 14, plainclothes policemen seized P2 million worth of shabu from four male peddlers in Barangay Rosary Heights 5, COTABATO CITY on Sunday, and apprehended two suspected drug traffickers who were detained after selling shabu to undercover officers in Barangay Glamang, Polomolok, South Cotabato on Friday night.

A weeklong intensified law enforcement operation across the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) resulted in the apprehension of 22 individuals involved in illegal activities, including 7 with outstanding warrants, and led to the confiscation of smuggled cigarettes and petroleum products valued at PHP1 million and over PHP4 million worth of suspected shabu.

Local officials from Sultan Kudarat and confidential informants helped plan both operations targeting large-scale drug trafficking activities across various barangays in Cotabato City and nearby towns, while police also confiscated a .45 caliber pistol and impounded the suspects' black Suzuki wagon used for transporting shabu to contacts in neighboring provinces.

During the same period, 23 assorted unlicensed firearms were seized, and on Sunday, four individuals, including a minor, were arrested in an entrapment operation in Barangay Rosary Heights, Cotabato City.
