PCG readies for Typhoon Marce in Metro Manila and Central Luzon

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and local government partners are preparing for Typhoon Marce, which is expected to impact Metro Manila and Central Luzon.

All PCG District NCR-Central Luzon personnel and equipment are being readied to assist with possible evacuations and rescue operations, while the Armed Forces of the Philippines has also deployed teams and prepared assets to respond to the typhoon's looming impact.

Personnel at all ports throughout the region are on heightened alert status to respond immediately to any emergencies, patrolling coastal areas and reminding families to conduct precautionary evacuations.

Essential rescue equipment and radio communication devices are fully operational and ready for use within the district's area of responsibility.

Local fishermen using small boats are encouraged to avoid venturing at sea due to safety concerns.

According to PAGASA's latest bulletin, Marce has intensified with maximum sustained winds of 165 kph near its center, slightly above the original estimate.

The typhoon has affected 751 individuals nationwide, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.
