PCG personnel and nine others die in SCTEX crash

A female Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) personnel died in a multi-vehicle road crash on the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) in Tarlac City, along with nine others.

Seawoman 1 Diane Janica Alinas and her husband were among those who perished; their two-year-old son survived but was left traumatized.

The PCG Commandant confirmed that financial support of P250,000 will be given to the child survivor, who kept asking for his parents, in addition to aid from other agencies.

Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Chairperson Teofilo Guadiz III ordered the Passenger Accident Management and Insurance Agency (PAMI) to release insurance claims immediately and instructed PAMI to provide Php 400,000 for each deceased passenger involved in the crash.

The LTFRB also issued a Preventive Suspension Order on 15 public utility buses of Solid North Transit for 30 days following the incident.
