15,883 passengers monitored at seaports on Black Saturday

A total of 15,883 passengers were monitored at various seaports across the Philippines on Black Saturday morning.

The Philippine Coast Guard reported that 8,870 passengers left and 6,963 entered seaports between 6 a.m. and noon.

To ensure safety, 4,857 frontline personnel were deployed in 16 PCG districts to inspect 103 vessels and 38 motorized outriggers.

Heightened alert was raised across all PCG districts from April 13 to 20 to manage the surge of port passengers during Holy Week.
