PCG collects over 10K liters of oily water during Oriental Mindoro spill cleanup

Over 10,613 liters of oily water mixture were collected during offshore clean-up operations following an oil spill off Oriental Mindoro.

The PCG also gathered 123 sacks of oil-contaminated materials offshore and 3,644.5 sacks and 22 drums along the shoreline from March 1 to 27.

MT Princess Empress sank on February 28 after engine trouble due to rough sea conditions, spilling industrial fuel oil that reached as far as Verde Island in Batangas and Taytay town in Palawan.
