LPA, southwest monsoon bring rain to Luzon, Visayas

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) is monitoring a low pressure area (LPA) inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) that is bringing scattered rain showers and thunderstorms to parts of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao due to the southwest monsoon.

As of Thursday, October 8, the LPA is located over the coastal waters of Concepcion, Romblon, with a slim chance of developing into a tropical depression in the next 24 hours.

PAGASA warns of possible flash floods and landslides during heavy or prolonged rainfall and advises caution in affected areas.
