Ofel maintains strength, 11 areas under Signal No. 1

Tropical Depression Ofel maintained its strength as it moved westward, affecting various regions in the Philippines.

As of Wednesday evening, Signal No. 1 was raised over Batangas, parts of Laguna and Quezon, with PAGASA predicting landfall in Oriental Mindoro by night or early Thursday morning.

By late afternoon on Wednesday, Ofel made its third landfall, and eleven areas remained under Signal No. 1: Batangas, southern Laguna, central and southern Quezon, Calamian Islands, Occidental and Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Camarines Norte, Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, and Masbate.

By the evening of Wednesday, twelve areas were under Signal No. 1: Batangas, southern Laguna, central and southern Quezon, Calamian Islands, Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Albay, and Masbate.
