PAOCC to file charges against suspended Bamban Mayor Guo for POGO involvement, human trafficking
The Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) announced on Saturday that it plans to file criminal charges against suspended Bamban Mayor Alice Guo for alleged involvement in Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) activities.
PAOCC spokesperson Winston Casio stated that strong evidence supports the allegations and added that Guo may face human trafficking charges this week due to her partial ownership of properties where such activities took place.
Guo is also facing tax evasion charges prepared by PAOCC and graft charges filed by the Department of the Interior and Local Government before the Office of the Ombudsman.
On June 3, the Office of the Ombudsman ordered Guo's preventive suspension as Bamban mayor along with two other municipal officials.
Guo's lawyer, Atty. Nicole Jamilla, said they will make a statement in due time regarding the charges.
The PAOCC expects to complete an inventory of seized items from a raid at the Lucky South 99 in Porac this weekend and plans to finalize criminal charges against those involved in the Bamban POGO hub next week.
