Pres Comm Office: LGUs can suspend classes, work due to Pepito

The Presidential Communications Office announced on Sunday that local chief executives have the authority to decide whether to suspend classes and work in public offices due to Super Typhoon Pepito.

Several local government units (LGUs) have already declared class and government work suspensions for Monday, including areas in Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, Metro Manila, and other regions affected by the typhoon.

Local leaders are advised to consider the specific conditions in their areas before making any decisions, following consultations with relevant government agencies and the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).

Super Typhoon Pepito has now moved over Quirino Province following its second landfall near Dipaculao, Aurora.
