SC suspends court ops in NE Luzon due to Typhoon Pepito

Court operations were suspended in several areas on November 15 and again on November 18 due to Typhoon Pepito.

Specifically, courts in Camarines Sur, Camarines Norte, Sorsogon, Northern Samar, Isabela, San Fernando City Regional Trial Courts (RTC), Municipal Trial Court in Cities (MTCC) and Office of the Clerk of Courts (OCC); Bacnotan MTC; San Juan-San Gabriel, La Union MCTCs; all courts within the jurisdiction of Dagupan City RTC, Urdaneta City RTC, Tayug RTC, Alaminos City RTC, and Lingayen RTC in Pangasinan were closed.

The Supreme Court also announced that work in government offices was suspended in affected areas, with classes also suspended in some regions due to the typhoon.

Typhoon Pepito intensified with maximum sustained winds of 130 kph, while Signal No. 3 was raised over several areas as of 5 a.m. on November 18.

Pepito is expected to continue moving northwestward over the West Philippine Sea and exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Monday morning or noon.
