Luzon, Visayas schools suspend classes due to Typhoons Ofel, Pepito

Local government units in Luzon and parts of the Visayas have extended class suspensions through Friday, November 15, due to Typhoon Ofel and Severe Tropical Storm Pepito.

In Cagayan Valley, classes are canceled in Alcala, Camalaniugan, Enrile, Quirino Province, Abra (Lacub, Licuan-Baay, Malibcong), Isabela (Angadanan, Santiago until Nov. 15, Roxas), and Ifugao (Aguinaldo public schools only).

Additional suspensions were announced in Cagayan, San Isidro, Ramon, Echague, Paracelis, Laurel, Balete, Albay, Catanduanes, Masbate, and Northern Samar.

In the Visayas, class suspensions were also implemented in San Policarpo, Eastern Samar, and Northern Samar.

Signal No. 4 remains hoisted over the Babuyan Islands and northern Cagayan due to typhoon-force winds posing significant threats to life and property.

PAGASA warned of heavy rains persisting in Batanes and Cagayan until Friday, with moderate to heavy rains continuing in Ilocos Norte, Apayao, Abra, Eastern Samar, and Northern Samar.
