Palace: Duterte defends 'innocent' Cabinet from senator probes

President Duterte's criticism of some senators was made to defend his 'innocent' Cabinet members, according to Malacañang.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said Duterte’s verbal attacks were in defense of government officials involved in the procurement of medical supplies during the rising COVID-19 cases.

Roque emphasized that there has been no pause in the country's COVID response and more people are getting vaccinated, but it is important for the President to support those he believes have not committed any wrongdoing.
