Duterte appeals for patience on delayed health worker benefits

President Rodrigo Duterte appealed for understanding from healthcare workers over the delay in releasing their benefits during his taped address on Wednesday.

He acknowledged the unpredictability of the pandemic and the sudden expenses related to the response, emphasizing that the government is doing its best with limited resources.

Duterte also apologized to those who believe he has fallen short in addressing the pandemic, stating that he fulfilled his oath of office and did everything within his capacity.

The president urged healthcare workers to be patient as their benefits will be granted once the government secures the necessary funds.
