Easterlies bring isolated rain showers, thunderstorms over Visayas, Mindanao; Shanshan forms but no threat

PAGASA reported that easterlies will bring isolated rain showers and thunderstorms over eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao, with some areas like Zamboanga Peninsula already experiencing rains due to localized thunderstorms.

Eastern Visayas, Caraga, and Davao Region can expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies, which may cause flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Metro Manila and other parts of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms, posing risks for flash floods or landslides.

The low pressure area outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) has developed into Tropical Storm Shanshan but remains far from PAR and is not expected to affect any part of the country.

Residents in affected areas are advised to brace for cloudy skies accompanied by scattered rains and thunderstorms.
