PAGASA warns of thunderstorms, heavy rains in Metro Manila and 8 provinces

Moderate to heavy rain with thunderstorms is expected in Metro Manila and eight provinces in Luzon on Friday morning, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

Based on PAGASA's 10:32 a.m. advisory, heavy rains accompanied by lightning and strong winds are affecting Metro Manila, Pampanga, Tarlac, Bulacan, Cavite, Batangas, Rizal, Laguna, and Nueva Ecija.

Meanwhile, Bataan and Zambales (Botolan, Cabangan, San Marcelino, Subic) are experiencing heavy to intense rains with lightning and strong winds.

PAGASA advised residents to take precautionary measures against potential hazards such as flash floods and landslides.

The weather bureau noted that these conditions may persist for another two hours and could further affect nearby areas.

Moderate to heavy rain is also expected in San Marcelino, Zambales within the next few hours.

The southwest monsoon (habagat) continues to affect most parts of the country.
