PAGASA warns heavy rains, flooding, landslides in Ilocos due to habagat

PAGASA warned that persistent rains will continue in the Ilocos provinces due to the Southwest Monsoon (habagat), with 50-100 millimeters of rainfall expected over Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur.

The weather bureau issued a heavy rainfall outlook, warning of localized flooding mainly in urbanized, low-lying areas or near rivers, as well as possible landslides in highly susceptible regions.

A marine gale warning remains active over coastal waters in several regions including the Ilocos Region, Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, Zambales, Bataan, Quezon, Occidental Mindoro, Masbate, and Romblon.

PAGASA advised mariners to avoid venturing out at sea due to hazardous conditions.

Tropical cyclone Bising exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) earlier and is forecasted to make landfall in Eastern China by morning on July 8 before weakening into a remnant low by Wednesday.
