Pagasa: shear line, northeast monsoon bring rain, cloudy skies across PH

Two weather systems will bring rain and cloudy skies to most parts of the Philippines through early Friday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

A shear line affecting Eastern Visayas, Caraga, Southern Leyte, Eastern Samar, Northern Mindanao, and Davao Region will cause scattered rain showers and thunderstorms with potential for flash floods or landslides.

The northeast monsoon (amihan) will bring cloudy skies with light rains over the Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Bicol Region, Aurora, and Quezon; cloudy skies with rains in Eastern Visayas; and partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains in Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon and Visayas.

The rest of Mindanao will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.

Strong winds and rough coastal waters are expected in parts of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and eastern Mindanao, while moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough waters are forecast for the rest of the country.
