Rain expected in Luzon, Mindanao; severe storms warn in Eastern Visayas

Three weather systems are expected to bring rain across parts of Luzon and Mindanao on Wednesday, March 12, with additional rainy conditions affecting Eastern Visayas on Thursday, March 13.

The easterlies will cause generally fair weather with isolated rain showers over most parts of the archipelago, while scattered rains and thunderstorms are anticipated in Eastern Samar, Samar, and Leyte due to this system.

Batanes will experience cloudy skies with light rains due to the northeast monsoon, locally known as 'amihan', while Metro Manila and other parts of the country may have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

Residents are warned about the possibility of severe thunderstorms leading to flash floods or landslides in vulnerable areas, especially Eastern Samar, Samar, and Leyte.

Winds will be moderate to strong in the northern and eastern sections of the country, while light to moderate winds may be observed elsewhere with slight to moderate coastal waters.
