PAGASA warns of scattered rains, thunderstorms in PH over next 24 hours

PAGASA reported that easterly winds and the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms across several areas in the Philippines over the next 24 hours on Sunday, March 16.

Northern Samar, Albay, Sorsogon, Catanduanes, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi are expected to experience varying weather conditions due to these systems, with moderate to heavy rains possibly resulting in flash floods or landslides.

Batanes, Cagayan, and Isabela will see cloudy skies with light rains while the Cordillera Administrative Region, Ilocos Region, and rest of Cagayan Valley will observe partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers.

Metro Manila and other parts of the nation will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, also posing a potential for flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Winds are expected to be moderate to strong in extreme Northern Luzon, Central Luzon, and rest of Northern Luzon while coastal waters will experience moderate to rough conditions. Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal waters will prevail throughout the rest of the country.
