Tropical Depression Enteng forms off Eastern Samar
A low pressure area (LPA) off Eastern Samar has developed into Tropical Depression Enteng, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
As of Sunday, September 1, Enteng was located 120 kilometers north northeast of Borongan City, Eastern Samar, with maximum sustained winds of 45 km/h.
The tropical depression is moving northwest at a fast pace of 30 kilometers per hour and is expected to intensify into a tropical storm by Monday, September 2, and possibly make landfall in the Bicol-Eastern Visayas area within 48 hours.
PAGASA issued Signal No. 1 for several areas including Eastern Samar, Northern Samar, Biliran, parts of Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, Burias Island, and Ticao Island, warning of moderate to intense rain, flooding, and landslides.
The weather bureau advised small vessels not to venture out to sea due to rough seas expected along the eastern seaboards of Central and Southern Luzon, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, and Kalayaan Islands over the next 24 hours.
