PAGASA issues red rainfall warning over Eastern Samar, Samar, Biliran, Leyte, parts of Cebu due to Tropical Depression Enteng

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) issued a red rainfall warning at 2 p.m. Sunday over Eastern Samar, Samar, Biliran, Leyte, and parts of Cebu due to Tropical Depression Enteng and the Southwest Monsoon.

This highest-level warning covers specific towns in Cebu such as Tudela, Tuburan, Tabuelan, Tabogon, Sogod, Santa Fe, San Remigio, San Francisco, Poro, Pilar, Medellin, Madridejos, Danao City, Daanbantayan, Catmon, Carmen, Borbon, Bogo City, Bantayan, and Asturias.

PAGASA also raised orange warnings for Southern Leyte and additional parts of Cebu, advising immediate evacuation for residents in low-elevation coastal towns and cities like Balamban, Cebu City, Compostela, Liloan, Consolacion, Mandaue City, Lapu-Lapu City, Cordova, Talisay City, Minglanilla, Toledo City, Pinamungahan, Naga City, San Fernando, Aloguinsan, Carcar.

Yellow rainfall warnings were issued over Negros Oriental, Siquijor, Bohol, parts of Cebu including Barili, Dumanjug, Ronda, Alcantara, Moalboal, Badian, Santander, Samboan, Ginatilan, Malabuyoc, Alegria, Sibonga, Argao, Dalaguete, Alcoy, Boljoon, and Oslob.

These alerts advise caution against potential flooding and landslides in low-lying and mountainous areas respectively, with PAGASA advising disaster risk reduction councils to take appropriate actions and monitor weather conditions closely.

A follow-up advisory is scheduled for 5 p.m. Sunday.
