PAGASA: Fair weather, isolated rain showers, severe thunderstorms possible

The Philippines will see fair weather due to easterly winds, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Wednesday.

While isolated rain showers or thunderstorms may occur in some areas, no major weather disturbances are expected to affect the country.

Severe thunderstorms could result in flash floods or landslides as warned by PAGASA.

The heat index is forecasted to peak at 46 degrees Celsius in Virac (Synop), Catanduanes; Roxas City, Capiz; and Butuan City, Agusan del Norte, with other regions experiencing indices between 42 and 45 degrees Celsius.

Prolonged exposure to high temperatures could lead to heat cramps, exhaustion, or even heat stroke under danger levels of 41°C to 51°C.
