Pacquiao draws with Barrios in WBC welterweight title fight

Manny Pacquiao, now 46 years old, challenged Mario Barrios for the WBC welterweight title on Sunday in Manila time with a majority draw result.

Despite being an underdog and having been retired for four years, Pacquiao remained confident he could compete at the top level and aimed to erase his bitter memory of a loss against Yordenis Ugas in 2019.

Pacquiao's performance against Barrios showed flashes of his former speed and power but fell short as Barrios won the last three rounds, preventing Pacquiao from breaking his own record as the oldest welterweight champion.

Following the draw, Pacquiao hinted at a potential rematch with Barrios or another title fight against WBA beltholder Rolly Romero, emphasizing that he proved he can still compete at an elite level.

Pacquiao's team is considering Romero and Gervonta 'Tank' Davis as future opponents, acknowledging that even a diminished Pacquiao remains superior to most fighters today.
