P175M, PHP4.8M shabu busts; P714K seizure from 'Jeff'

Two suspects were arrested in Cebu for allegedly possessing P175 million worth of shabu, while a separate arrest occurred in Taguig with around PHP4.8 million worth of the drug.

In a related development on Friday, January 24, police seized P714,000 worth of shabu from an alleged drug trafficker named 'Jeff' in San Mateo, Rizal.

The suspects in Cebu claimed they were unaware their Mitsubishi Mirage G5 sedan contained illegal drugs and were promised PHP20,000 for delivering it to Pier 4 in Cebu City.

Police confiscated seven sealed plastic sachets and one knot-tied plastic bag containing shabu weighing 105 grams from 'Jeff' along with a digital scale, motorcycle, and mobile phone.

Both sets of suspects will face charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
