BCPO arrests three drug suspects, seizes PHP1.7M shabu

Anti-drug agents from the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) arrested three drug suspects and seized PHP1.7 million worth of shabu during a buy-bust operation at a hotel in Barangay Singcang-Airport on Tuesday.

The latest seizure brings the total amount of illegal drugs recovered by BCPO to over PHP204,000 from a lone male suspect in the same village on Wednesday and PHP1.7 million since the start of the year.

According to Lt. Richard Legada of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU), 'Fredo,' 51; 'Iya,' 18; and 'Shaba,' 23, are involved in drug transactions with 'Fredo' supplying shabu to the other two suspects.

Col. Joeresty Coronica, police city director, emphasized that despite intensified operations, illegal drugs continue to enter Bacolod due to ongoing demand, underscoring the need for a comprehensive campaign against drug use and education programs targeting youth.
